About AARP-Tax-Aide

AARP AARP Tax-Aide is a joint Internal Revenue Service and AARP Foundation program.  Volunteers have many years experience preparing tax returns and undergo extensive training.  All volunteers must pass a national test and receive the “Advanced” IRS volunteer certification.

AARP Foundation Tax-Aide has helped individuals for more than 40 years in every state and the District of Columbia.  AARP Tax-Aide is the largest volunteer free tax preparation organization.  It is the third largest tax preparation organization of any type in the United States.

Throughout the United States there are over 35,000 Tax-Aide volunteers in more than 4,000 sites.  In California, there are 3,100 volunteers.
